Students Honored for Scholarship with Green Key Honor Society Induction

Wilmington College inducted its newest members of the Green Key Honor Society on Sunday (April 23) at the 43rd annual Student Honors Convocation.

"We are so very proud of the accomplishments of our students, and we honor them today," said President Corey Cockerill, noting these students are "among the best and brightest."

The society was organized in 1951 to recognize superior academic achievement by Wilmington College students. Seniors are eligible for membership in Green Key upon completion of 90 semester hours with a minimum grade point average of 3.50. Transfer students are eligible for membership after completing a minimum of 32 Wilmington College hours and meeting the hour and GPA requirements.

Wynn Alexander, vice president for academic affairs, noted that many students at the Honors Convocation were inducted into Green Key last year and were so recognized.

In the original initiation ceremony, the founders of the Green Key chapter urged the initiates to remember that their task was one of leading by example so that future generations would recognize that it was through the life of the mind that society would be improved. They concluded the ceremony by welcoming the initiates to Green Key by saying, and I quote,  “with the same gladness which was felt by the College in having you become a student.”

The inductees were presented with certificates and medallions, the latter of which should be worn at Commencement. They are: Hanna Anderson, Randi Anderson, McKenna Archey, Justin Beckner, Rachel Berry, Audrey Bibb, Gracie Boggs, Cierra Bolender, Kaden Brackman, Milian Burns, Summer Dice, Olivia Doll, Sabrina Dolph, Lauren Dooley, Amy Emswiler, Pedro Escobedo, Taylor Evans, Paige Flowers, Sarah Free, Lillian Frizzell, Olivia Fuhrman, Nathaniel Geraci, Libby Giffen, Molly Hafer, Jorja Hazelwood, Sarah Hess, Hillary Huffer, Alyssa Jenkins, Ella Jones, Taylor Kenska, Mason Klamroth, Derek Larimer, Victoria Long, Wyatt Lykins, Mackenzie McQueen, Mollie Moore, Charles O’Connell, Randalyn Paulus, Luke Pennington, Shania Peters, Rachel Pruitt, Megan Roell, Kylee Schafer, Lindsay Schultz, Aubrey Schwartz, Jorden Shaw, Brayden Smith, Elise Snarr, Jaclyn Sparks, Eliana Tacoronte, Fatou Tall, Alysha Verhoff, Ashley Wampler, Kaylee Warfield, Delaney Weisend, Liliann Williford and Nicholas Young.
