Animal Science majors can prepare for a career in veterinary medicine through our Pre-Veterinary Science pathway. You will get experience working with animals at local veterinary clinics and doing research in our farms.
Agriculture Minors for WC Students
Agriculture Minor
This minor is designed for non-Agriculture majors who want to prepare for graduate programs or participate in the food systems industry. Coursework includes crop and animal science production, agricultural economics and more.
Equine Studies Minor
Based on the Equine major core, students with this minor will gain specialized knowledge in horsemanship, animal health, management and marketing. The Equine Studies minor complements majors in Agriculture, Business, and Biology.
Sustainability Minor
Our global society faces major challenges and opportunities related to food. This minor will appeal to students who want to understand food production sustainability from a social, political and environmental perspective.

Get Real-World Experience at the WC Academic Farm
At Wilmington College, you will put your skills into practice and have access to expansive agricultural labs. Our Academic Farm is ranked #1 in the Midwest for student hands-on learning facilities and ranked top 15 in the nation. Across 267 acres of land, you will find farm animals, greenhouses, a 2.5-acre vegetable garden and a 1,300-gallon rainwater recycling system.

Semester Abroad
Expand your horizons and develop a global perspective by taking a semester abroad. Agriculture students can study with any of our partner institutions, including the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
Immersive Travel Experiences
The WC Agriculture program offers unique travel options. You may take an advocacy trip to Washington, D.C., go to Puerto Rico to study regenerative agriculture, or spend spring break in Monteverde, Costa Rica to study agritourism and tropical agriculture production.
